PESERICO SS22 WOMAN

Grand Tour
Art and life – or rather, art is life. The Peserico SS22 woman’s collection celebrates a
time of rediscovered awareness, a well-developed harmony with nature, and physical
and spiritual rebirth.
It’s a gradual process separated into the creative phases of a painting, which are
reflected in the three basic themes of the collection: Prima, En plein air and
Lungomare.
Prima
We start with a raw, blank canvas. This is the female body, clothed in neutral,
textured brush-strokes like a sort of rough sketch containing, in essence, the finished
shape of the garment. Natural fibres, layers of white and the primeval simplicity of
the weaves are translated into unexpected movements of pleats and threedimensional shadows, in varying sophisticated textures and handfeels enhanced by a
conceptual absence of colour. Less is more: dawn breaks over a new era.
En plein air
The artist’s gaze roams across the landscape: this is the Veneto countryside, the brand’s
heritage, intrinsically linked to the colour palette of the impressionist painter Vittorio
Marchi, to his blurred lines and transparent, poetic brushstrokes. Imperceptible shades
of colour gradually come into play – from the light tones of cornflower, to primrose
yellow and wisteria – representing nature’s reawakening, and intensifying as they sketch
out a unique, wonderful work of art. Lilac, the emblematic colour of the season,
predominates, and its refreshing effect injects a dose of energy into both the fluidity of
the lines and the light, airy fabrics and yarns.
Lungomare
A grand tour of the intellect, where the final destination is the seashore at sunset.
Floating in the pale light of a carefree summer’s evening, neutral shades of white and
sand are brightened up with pale blue and pink copper, until they capture that second
in which the sun meets the horizon and responds with deep, coral tones. Overlays and
transparencies now create an ethereal, impalpable fragility, expressing a new harmony.
