Designers for Ethical Fashion

The first edition of the Designers for Ethical Fashion is hosted during the February Milano Fashion Week in a space in the Fashion Hub. The project, devoted to the topic of ethical and social fashion, has the aim of giving visibility to the brands that through creating clothes and accessories provide support for people who are in disadvantaged situations, such as women who are victims of violence, immigrants and refugees. The brands present are: SEP, ARA LUMIER and Cartiera.

SEP involved over 500 embroidery artists in the refugee camp of Jerash in Jordan, and aims to put thousands of refugee women above the poverty line.

ARA LUMIERE, which presents a ready-to-wear collection for the first time, involves in its production women who have undergone acid attacks using 100% of the profits to support medical care and to help them fit back into society.

Lastly, Cartiera, a brand that trains and hires refugees and asylum-seekers, by offering them the chance to have qualified roles.
